That Rug is a rules-lite tabletop RPG where you'll build a game world using one of those ubiquitous city rugs for kids (We all remember those, right?). The players roleplay as spunky kid investigators attempting to unearth a strange, scary, and probably supernatural plot unfolding in their hometown. More than a nostalgic throwback, That Rug is perfect for any group that wants to tell stories about kids confronting the unknown, whether a mid-80s alien encounter, something specific to your own life, or an original tale altogether. That Rug can be played start-to-finish in a few hours with one GM and 3-5 players. The story is collaborative, with every player creating key characters and plots. Conflicts are resolved using simple and propulsive wagering mechanics, requiring no dice at all. And if you need a "that rug," we've included an illustration in the zine too.
