Set during the First Punic War and a companion game sharing components and using similar mechanics, players in Hamilcar compete for control of the Mediterranean Sea as Rome seeks to break through the island chain of Sicily, Corsica, and Sardinia, while Carthage strives to contain Rome on the Italian peninsula.
